So I've got my vertical light set up over my plants. I was just wondering exactly where you vert guys position your light. Do you position it so its right at the side of your plants, my plants are around 8 to 10 inches tall, so the light is dispersed all down the side of the plant?? This way results in slight shadows on the tops of the plants but not much.
Or, Do I position the light slightly above my plants dispersing light diagonally and also hitting the top of the plants fairly well??

Or do you guys have any other positioning tips you can give me???

I think we all know what results I'm looking for. But whats the best and most efficient way to hang it??

haha ok i'll be more specific. When you are deciding where to place your light vertically, what you want to do is maximize the use of your light in your space.

For me since my space was so thin and tall it entailed using a vertical scrog method to wrap my plant around my light and give it the same intensity of light all along the plant not just vertically but everywhere. This gives me the same cola growth rate across the whole plant which gives me a bunch of buds that are the approximately same size. If i were not to have positioned my light and formed my screen the way i did i would get one large cola or a few large colas with smaller colas surrounding it.

So again it brings me back to my previous statement... it depends on the results you want. Do you want one large lollipop and a few medium and smaller lollipops. Or do you want a whole plant of medium sized lollipops, I'm finding the yield of the many medium lollipops to be much larger than the latter.

Hope this is a little more clear.

Edit: you asked what would be the most efficient way of hanging it, i assumed you were still talking about positioning, if you're talking about physical mounting i'm going need some more info and thought and i'll be able to give you some input. Just let me know.

Ok thanks man. Maybe I'll leave it parallel with the plants for now untill more growth and see how the plants react to it. If I think it should be moved I'll move it. That scrog idea is a good one. I'd still like to hear how some of you other guys position your light and why??

damn dude are you growing a marijuana plant or a fucking tree! that plant looks like its gonna be a monster when all is said and done :bigjoint:

haha thanks for the love man, though scale is a little deceiving in that picture and the plant is only about 15 inches tall there, sorry if this is disappointing. That picture was also taken right as the plant was switched from veg into the flower chamber about a week ago.

The plant is now around 20 inches tall and wide though, and just loaded with medium sized colas (3 inches long, 2 inches wide, 1.5 inches deep). The last time i counted i had somewhere around 20-30 different approximately the same size colas.
