Pope declares "science is settled"...

Just so we are clear, The Pope still believes he has a direct line to God still, right?

God isn't all powerful? Why are we praying to him then?

haha, awesome!

Without even reading it, I'm sure he says that God is hiding in the earliest moments of the big bang (or initiated it), which we currently have not yet figured out. "God set the weight of the electron and the speed of light" sort of arguments.

Once we do though.. it sure would be nice to put an end to that whole religion crutch.

Very interesting. He really seems to be trying to fulfill the Papal Prophecy.
He's more secular than John Paul II.

Funny, pope ends a false dilemma... you don't have to choose between creationism and evolution, they are not mutually exclusive, God designed and created evolution and the big bang was required and is how God started it all.

And surely the great magician in the sky doesn't actually need a wand no. That would just be silly. He doesn't even need to speak the words, not like there was anyone who could hear him. There wasn't any material available to create said wand.

it sure would be nice to put an end to that whole religion crutch.
Isn't going to happen, ever.

Should we be letting a highly religious old man wearing a dress, living in a special city made just for him be the deciding factor on what science has settled or not?

Who said he was the deciding factor? Science is the deciding factor, the rest of the educated world has known evolution is true for over a century, BB since the ~30's. He knows the value of evidence. I disagree with his view that they're not mutually exclusive, but I believe it's a step in the right direction.

If you're under 30 and live in the modern western world there's an 80%+ chance you're an atheist.

Only the truely retarded still believe in a sky-daddy.

What if God created heaven and Earth? And views his creation like a fish tank? We so small that if he discovers we exist he will treat us like a disease and try to wipe us out with medication to eradicate us. Much like people who discover their pet fish are sick from some microscopic parasitic infection.

What if God created the big bang and doesn't know we exist? Or even care?

What if there is no God, and never was? What if the entire idea is all made up from nothing as all the evidence suggests?

God didn't create us. We created that.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
