I'd skip the pool stuff. Get a 1 lb bag of citric acid from amazon, or locally wherever they sell canning supplies, any food grade citric acid is fine. You'll have to experiment with the dosage for your particular water and nutrients, but start with a TINY amount per gallon, like 1/16 of a teaspoon, test with a good, calibrated TDS pen, and go from there. It's a powder, so it's very economical and will last practically forever. It's also good for your plants for reasons beyond PH adjustment. I never use PH up.
