Pool chlorine tabs for run-off trays?

So I am not on top of my shit as I should be and sometimes the trays have water in them (plants are on raisers) but I was thinking why not just crush a pool tab and throw some in so it doesn't become a breading site for mold etc. Of course I saw some roots that grew through the fabric pots so that may be enough of a reason, but other than that, tell me why it's a bad idea.

Might be too much for a small amount of water.

A couple pucks keeps an average size pool, 10k gal, at 3-5 ppm for a week.
