does anyone know at what stage of a buds life when it will not seed if pollinated. ????

if it comes in contact with a males pollen at anytime in flower, there is a good chance you will pollenate your plant or atleast get a few buds with a couple seeds if its late in flower.

thanks gucci. this is the first time i ever tried pollinating this far into flower. selfed one girl and she took awhile to switch. meanwhile the other girl got real sticky.

How far into flower were you when you pollinated? I did the same thing recently and because I pollinated the lower most branches I just harvested the rest of the plant when it was ready. I did it to two different strains and the seeds were ready at different times... between 5-6 weeks for me. Letting the seeds continue to mature on the plant after cutting it down worked well for me... it's worth the experiment I think if your plants end up being ready to harvest before the seeds are viable.

i was about five weeks in. the calyxes are still real white and pointing upwards in pairs. wait and hope for the best. if nothing else i learned to self. next time ill do it in two stages. thanks for the info.

...yeah man, it takes about 4 weeks from pollination for a viable seed to form so all you have to do is let your girls ripen a little longer than normal and you'll have your viable beans.

harvested that plant and when i was taking it from the bowl to put in jars i heard a clink clink clink. got a few seeds. started over to go in two stages. i know its going to work. peace out
