As Conroy stated, he is proceeding with motion to vary the injunction.

"Vancouver Memorandum to file from J. Orchard, Vancouver dated 23-MAR-2016 Further to letters from counsel (IDS 398, 400, 402) and as instructed by the Court, counsel were today advised that the format and documents for the new motion to vary are acceptable as is the schedule for filing. placed on file."

It's 30 calander days (including Holidays), which is tomorrow's deadline. If they don't file an appeal by the end of biz today...they miss out.
Would they not have until end of business tomorrow? If they were going to appeal they would have stated their intentions already,imo... better to explain their side first than to face the public backlash calling their position on legalization into question. I really don't think they will risk it, knowing they are doomed to lose. The LPC can blame the whole attack on mmj patients on Harper, and be seen as the party that ended that era. It would fit with the 'sunny ways' theme they are trying to project. I may be living in technicolor (or just high) but I don't see Trudeau continuing the Harper fight. :weed:

Good that Conroy is proceeding on a motion to vary as it seems like Philpott isn't going to do anything to cover people that have moved / leftouts.

The upside of that is Phelan may just go for constitutional exemptions (slim chance, but far less hassle for the MMAR peeps).

No. Holidays (and weekends) are included as calander days...so technically they only have 29 days to file the appeal as courts are not open tomorrow. It would be the same way if the 30th day fell on a Saturday, you can only file when the court is open for biz...."before" the 30th day expires.

I know its probably to much to hope for, but wouldn't it be nice if the government finally tried to help people instead of hurting them. Its a crazy idea. Sure be a good way to get re-elect in about 3 1/2 years if there are any politicians reading this...

I like to send a polite letter to help remindind our new health minister, the Honourable Jane Philpott MP, that she has an obligation to help people and not try to harm them as her predecessor did.

She doesn't even have horns like Rona :fire: did, least I haven't seen them yet....

Yes, this is exactly what we need to do. Just like we jammed Ambrose's office line during the infamous cat litter threats.

this is so true....gentle reminders are all that's required at this point...
there is finally a truce...in place....and for once in a long while...we are not being attacked by the government..
though ,all you have to do is read your local weekly court docket ,to see that the police and crown are still enforcing the
law on the general public...
It would be nice for them to offer up the change...without having to be legislated directly ...to make them act...
some good faith is long overdue...and it would go along way with the public in general.....for them to show some trust...
and stop giving people criminal records for something so inert ...
