I'd love to find that high school high again. I'm not sure if it's age that has made a difference, or just the shear amount of crossing this with that has F'd everything up. I'm not saying weed isn't good these days. I can say getting high isn't like it use to be.
The question there is how much of that is purely psychological as you chase that high but don't have the same "thrill" of doing something naughty like you did when you were a teenager rebelling against authority...

You crazy kids with your fancy weed and your banana and mango scents! (my favorite so far is the blueberry)

I'm sincerely sorry you missed out on the best weed in the history of the world, as apparently is not coming back, you missed it so forget about, it'll be alright, go forward and try to do good with whats left is about the best we can do now?

I have a picture somewhere of a mason jar completely full of the real Acapulco Gold from 1976! It was the second best weed I've ever had in my life, I'll try to find that pic and post it up when I get back home

I lived very close to the school, so my friends and I swung by my place right after school to smoke a joint. as both my parents worked....

Anyway, we must have been home like 5 minutes after school and smoking not long after that.... I got that whole time warp thing, where I thought hours went by and started freaking out because my mom would be coming home any minute... (she was only due hours later in the real world).

The pic is 1976 Acapulco Gold..

The Columbian Gold was around in 72 -75 (which was different and higher quality). In 73 the Panama Red came around, which was the best smoke I've ever had in my life.

After the 76 Acapulco Gold (pictured above) there was another run of gold which wasn't as good but I recall there was lots of it, and then quality just went to hell till I started working with real skunk#1 seeds in the mid-eighties

So my ratings of 70's Superbud are:

1) Panama Red

2) Colombian Gold

3) Acapulco Gold (above pic)

You took that pic in 1976?

You must have been ahead of your time with the Ball jar. I didn't get into jars for over a decade after that.

Except for very small coke jars.

No. I'll take anything from 1973 - 1978 over everything today, just my opinion (but I was there) Most of the hash we got back then had tons of opium in it too! Nice!

* I would add that I grew and bred NL5 and the real skunk from 85 to 95 and that wasn't even as good as the stuff back in the 70s, but it was a lot better than most anything today, I honestly don't know what's happened to cannabis in the 20 years that I was mostly away ?

Also if you're talking about weed from the 90s then you weren't there in the sixties and seventies and you don't know. Not trying to start an argument, just stating a fact.
When I first started smoking at 13 years old, it was all hash in southern Ontario at that time. The hash we used to get was opiated, and man was it good. It actually had white chunks of opium in it sometimes, and other times it was mixed in much finer as more of an oil then a hardened sap. We never even knew this until years later when I smoked opium for the first time and it brought me back to those days.
