when i was a kid, the town we lived in in Mn would have a summer festival, and one of the events was the snowmobile jump...they'd build a ramp on the beach of our small lake, and people would fix up old beater snowmobiles and see how far into the lake they could make it...i never came in better than third :)

Arctic Cats were good machines
yeah, it looked like crap, but it really did run like a cat...my Dad is retired, but he was no shit, bar none the best mechanic i have ever known.
30+ years as a rear end and transmission man for Cummins diesel, had a whole drawer full of plaques, "transmission tech of the year"...
the man could diagnose 90% of problems by listening to the car, and the only time i ever saw him return a part was when it was defective.
he kept it not only running, but running good enough to where only my rich friend with the new skidoo could keep up with me.
