Ok guys so i am growing in a BC Northern lights mothership. I have 4 airstones and an airpump that goes to a drip system. I currently have 4 Big BUddah Blue cheese clones that are 1 week into flower going right now. About 1 week before i started to flower i battled Some nasty brown root rot. I cured this by empting out my res and putting in just plain water with some hydrogen peroxide for 2 days. After 2 days everything looked good the roots were getting white again and the brown was going away. So last night i emptied the res again and added my nutes at like 3/4 strenght since they had not had any nutes in 2 days and added some more hydrogen peroxide to make sure they would stay healthy. The nutes i used were Advenced nutrients sensi Bloom A&B Technoflora magical and awsome blossom, some superthrive, and some botinicare sweet. I added all these last night when the lights came on. Tonight when my lights came on i looked at my ladies and they had grown and they look 100% healthy and amazing. I lifted the lid to the res and to my suprise there is a white snot like gunk all over my roots. My res temps where getting high but i got them down to like 66-72 degrees and my box temp is like 74-86. I have no idea where this white shit came from or how. Is it in the nutes im giving them? I supercelaned the res like 4 times now and have added hydrogen peroxide and done everything i know how to do to fix it. It seems like when i finally fix one thing with the roots something else happens. The plants during all these root problems have never shown 1 single sign though. They have kept growing and stayed green and healthy the whole time which i think is extremly werid. Can someone please help identify what this is and how to fix it. Here is a link to my grow journal if you want to go look through it and see what i have done the whole way through if that will help you to answer my question.

from what i have read cause i have the exact same problem is this: ur res water is to hot cause the slime feeds on warmth, super duper light proof ur tub the slime feeds on that too. My solution im going to do is make sure no light is gtn in and drop a tray of cubes in my rez once per day and see if that works after the washing, and cleaning. Theres still hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man you got some nasty root rot i do believe. I would recommend adding a couple teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide for a few days and see how that works out. You prolly have loads of gunk in your water so you want to make sure you clean out your reservoir.

Once you get the slime in check and your back to looking good I would start using this:

I had some root rot issues my first dwc grow. I had success cleaning it up with the H202 but noticed that my reservoir would get a little funky within a couple days after adding h202. So I stopped using it and started using the DM Zone.

Started adding this per the recommended dosage weekly when I change my reservoir and the roots are much healthier and no rot. It's good to use as a preventative measure but I don't know how well it will work on an advanced case of root rot.

your airstones make warm bubbles because your pump is blowing hot air thus making your water temps rise. you might also have too much water in there. I would cut back on nutes all together just plain ph water for several days. you use a lot of additives from what I read.

"The nutes i used were Advenced nutrients sensi Bloom A&B Technoflora magical and awsome blossom, some superthrive, and some botinicare sweet."

I would just go with the sensi bloom A&B.

Botanicare and AN are more organic while Awesome Blossom is actually synthetic those things do not mix well and can cause stress. Superthrive should only be used 1 drop per gallon and is more effective in veg growth. All the salts can stop root growth and collect too many salts and combined with getting too warm in water causing what you are seeing. I am thinking this may be the problem. Find some clear/clean drip one of those. It stops salt build up and keeps P-K controlled.

Thank you so much for the info that really helps i will be switching the res in 1-2 days i guess i will not cut the roots i will just add Sensi bloom A&B and a little sweet i will not use the superthrive magical or awsome blossom and see how it goes i will also add some hydrogen peroxide and hopefully the white gunk comes off the older roots. The newer roots are looking good still. Actually im not going to use the sweet either for this next week im just going to use like 1/2 to 3/4 strength of just sensi bloom A&B and once i clean the res and everything is clear and nothing comes back i will slowly add some additives after a week or two of just giving them Sensi bloom A&B i figure after 1-2 weeks of having some good roots and just simple nutes with no additives i can slowly add some additives to get my buds nice and big like i want but i will take your advice on just using the two main nutes for a week or two and see how it goes. I have been adding some ice and frozen water bottles to the res to keep temps down. During the day when its the hottest my temps never exceed 72 normally are around 68-70 and at night even with the light on its much cooler becasue the room is cooler and res temps stay around 65-68. +rep for you for sure i really appreciate the help.

i had the same problem with the white/clear gunk i cut out the magical and it went away in one day i think it was causing the calcium to particulate hope this advice helps it worked for me plus now i get to save a little cash by taking it out of the mix i use tap water at 115ppm and i believe if i was using ro then it would be benificial
