Please help me catch this problem before it worsens!

I am a first timer growing Nirvana's Papaya (fem). Please take a look at my pictures and see if you can get an idea of what the problem is. I want to nip this in the butt before it gets worse. Notice the slight change of shade/yellowing between the veins on the larger leaves. Also, leaves folding down in a couple of places. I appreciate the help!

if you're using 1/4 bump it up abit, to 1/2 of what the pack says, are you useing MG with the N as 24 by any chance? 24-8-5? or something like that? That's what I use for veg as well. It has good N in it, so just bump up the nutes a bit and it also looks like it could use a little wind, pretty small stalk on her, should let the fan whip her around abit, to strengthen her up.
Hope this helps and good luck

Thanks hardroc. my SMG has an NPK of 8-7-6. i figure as long as N is the highest that it should work for now. and yea i will kick the fan up a notch

Good, I think your plant is stunted because it can't uptake the nutrients from over watering. I don't think you need to add more fertilizer.

It will be fine, it doesn't even look that bad. I think you caught it just in time, good thing you're so observant. Just give it a few days between watering and check if it really needs it. sometimes I just stick my finger a couple inches deep to see if it's moist but my larger pots I judge by weight.

Thanks for the help. i think i should be ok from here. one more Q though: what are the chances I have root rot from watering too much?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you want you could re-pot it and have a look, but I don't think it's worth the hassle. It really doesn't look that messed up and it should recover fine.

you babys will be fine, just add some N and you'll be set..

Also, ur steams look rather skinny place a small fan on low and point it directly at it so it sways a little bit but not enough to damage it. It'll beef your stems up and help with nute and water uptake.

On the root rot question, if mostly rare with soil but if u leave ur roots wet 24/7 rot will occur.. just make sure the soil almost drys out completely before u water again. OVER WATERING IS THE #1 ROOKIE MISTAKE. remember that ;)
