PLEASE HELP!!! First time grower i need help!!

:blsmoke:I have a aerogarden deluxe (white 7 hole unit) and also a aerogarden spacesaver 6 (black 6 hole unit)...... Does anyone know how to make it so that the lights on both systems turn off at the same time? I plugged them in at the same time and put them on the same setting but the lights still turn off at separate times and i don't want that to screw up my plants light/dark cycle. So far i have just left the aerogarden deluxe on 24 hour light and turned the spacesaver light back on whenever i notice its off.... Is there a 24 hour light setting for the aerogarden spacesaver? I plan on switching to a 400w light fixture with a timer after a few weeks for flowering and bending the plants accordingly to fit them in the room/aerogarden....

Buy a timer and 2 figure 8 chords like the type you plug into the back of a playstation. Plug the timer in and set it to your light cycle then plug a mulit socket into it. Plug your figure 8 leads in to that then into the hood of the aerogarden. Voila, it will turn them both on and off at the same time and give you better control over timing too.

Awesome!! This site is very helpful... Thank you very much! How about the settings on the aerogardens.... Does the watering change from one setting to the next? if so, what setting should i use?
 
Leave it on tomato for now, then when the roots start touching the water go and buy an air pump and airstone from the pet shop (used for fish tanks) and leave it on 24/7
 
It's never too soon to put in an air pump. If you have four hands you could set the two A/G's light schedules simultaneously. The instructions are in the owners manual that came in the box. put them both on tomatoes and unplug and plug them in and set the light controllers as per directions. I have three and it's pretty tricky but I get them so that they go on and off within a minute of each other.

Mine are older units and as afar as what the trick stuff the newer ones can do, RTFB, (Read the books that came with them), and if that doesn't tell you what you want to know call customer service. It's an 800 number and they're very helpful as long as you don't tell them what you're growing. Please keep us posted on what you're doing and the results.
 
Thanks for the help... i actually bought these units used so i have no manual. I already have 2 6" airstones in each of the systems.... also, do you have the custo service number? I will post pics very soon. They are young and only about 3 inches tall.... Its quite amazing how much bigger and healthier the plants in the A/G's are than the ones i am just doing by hand in the rockwool... Also, anymore tips anyone has for the whole process please let me know!! I am using A mix of autoflower seeds with the A/G and i have a 400w fixture with both bulbs. I am only using the A/G lights at the moment

yours is looking very nice!! r those the desk lights with CFL bulbs? I have been hearing about desk lights but was a lil confused....
 
Yeah. If you get one make sure you get one that is rated for 60W or better. That way you con put two 23W (100W eq) bulbs in there without worrying.
 
Okay, I set up my aeroponic systems with the PlayStation figure 8 power chord with a timer to set the lights to proper times. Should i run these lights 24hrs? If so, for how long? Also, They both already have airstones in them. The aerogarden deluxe and the aerogarden spacesaver have different water settings. The spacesaver has no setting for tomatoes. What setting should i use? I have them both on salad greens now.... Keep in mind im using autoflower seeds

Hopefully, here's a tip: A/G has always had all their manuals available on line for free, or at least they did the last time I looked. If they're still there print them out, punch them and put them in a notebook because believe me you're going to need them. Just out of curiosity what are the A/G's going for used?
