Hey everyone. So i am doing my first grow and am having a few issues with drainage in my coco coir 7 gallon pots that are sitting in saucers. Most of my pots have been drying out like they are suppose to, the only issue i have been having is i have not been getting any run off on most of the pots when i water. I watered one plant with gallon and a half of water and still didn't get any run off. So i didn't want to keep watering afraid I would give it to much.

What are some thing I can do to improve the drainage in my coco pots so I can get some run off. I was not sure if I should keep watering until I get run off or if I just need to mprove drainage somehow which i am not sure how I can do since they are already potted.

I think my main issue was the fact i potted into to big of a container when i transplanted. Should have started with something smaller but it's to late now so any help from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Most people do add a little aeration to coir, such as 30% perlite. There are plenty of people who do use straight coir tho. You should be getting drainage out the bottoms, unless somehow the coir is compressed. There's nothing you can do except re transplant into an aerated mix. A gallon and a half of water for 7 gallons doesn't sound all that absurd to me, do water it till it comes our the bottom next time. If it's a small plant in a large container then it prolly doesn't need to be watered all too often yet.

Did you soak the coir before you used it? Did it come from a brick or a bag?

It came in a bag. No I did not soak it. Transplanted then watered it right after.

Is it not a good idea to re pot a few of them 4.5 weeks into veg.

Also I have a nutrient block I think. Outside lining of some fan leaves are little yellow. Also couple fan leaves have yellowish spots. Nothing big yet.

Should I just water them with my ro water next time with no nutrients until I get about 30% run off. Then slowly start feeding them again when coco Drys out.
