My plant will be ready harvest in a week or a week and a half. About a month ago, by boyfriend took a plant from outside and put it into the grow tent. Apparantly we have some sort of bugs now. I'm not sure if they are spider mites. I found what I believe to be a webs (unless webs and egg sacs look similar), on the underside of the leaves on one stalk. Their are very tiny little dark bugs walking around the web/nest thing.

I assume they are mites, but I'm not sure. I've been doing research on how to get ride of mites for the last three hours. Everyone seems to suggest different things. Some say ladybugs work great, others say they don't. Some say to spray apple juice on the plants, or neem, etc.

Can anyone out there please give me a straight answer? I'm very close to harvesting so I need a solution fast please.

I was considering getting predator mites, but the reviews are very wishy washy, just like the rest. Does anyone have any thoughts on predator mites??

Please only reply if you have first-hand experience in dealing with mites. Thank you so much for your help!!!!!!!!!!!

i had spider mites on my outdoor plants...i caught them really early and sprayed them with pyrethium every other day for a week and then foliar fed them 3 days after the last pyrethium and they died..i got kinda lucky because the weather got kinda cold at night and i think that helped kill them.....

spider mites are a bitch because its almost impossible to kill the eggs so thats why you gotta keep spraying them so you kill them as they hatch b4 they get a chance to lay more eggs....good luck...!

if your growing indoors make sure to clean your WHOLE room very good with bleach after this harvest to make sure you dont have no left over mites chillin in the corners of ur room or somthin.!

O my I feel sorry for you...cuz I got em too....shower the shit out of them...wash them every day... I almost killed my babies...the mites are gone though... I hate those lil bastards! They come outta nowhere and by the time you see it's like a damn army! well predator mites take time to establish and if your wks away from harvest it won't do any good... I'm in veg and I'm freaking out about my mites... I did neem oil... it helped for a day or two... then I bathed them... then I tried safer end all... smells like donuts...lol... then I tried 50% rubbing alcohol and 50% water solution... oh it kills them right on contact... like they step once and that's it! doesn't kill eggs though... so I did a remedy solution... of some crazy shit I got off line... my leaves are clean and shiney! Ha baking soda, dawn dish soap, epsom salt... so I did the unforbidden and dunked them in my tub in 90 degree water... oh my mites are dead... yup and my plants are pissed! I'm just hoping they come back... I heard apple juice didn't try it... well the mites aren't your worry the eggs are... the mites you can kill easily... its the hatching of the eggs... so you gotta think like suffocating them... a guy at my local nursery said he doesn't know much about plant but his mom has a greenhouse and she uses murphy's oil soap... with water... spray it on. I haven't tried it cuz I'm hoping I don't have to!!! Ladybugs will take off... mites aren't on the top of their menu... my husband tried to wipe them off... the eggs... they wouldn't come off! I hate those things and I feel so sorry for you... try murphy's it can't hurt! Oh yeah the alcohol... it kills them in a spilt second and it evaporates so quick it can't do any real damage to your plant.... I would water the plant before you treat with anything to stop the plant from absorbing the treatment.... I hope you make it!

I've heard bad things about using alcohol. I'm interested in using your hot water method. You said that it worked right? Your mites are gone now?

Thanks!

Wouldn't hot water burst your trichomes?

Neem oil mixed w/ peppermint oil or cinnamon oil works pretty well, make sure to spray the underside of the leaves and continue treatment every 2-3 days as the eggs hatch (about two weeks). I've heard this recipe works but I have not tried it and I can't recall where I got it from, sounds good but use at your own risk: Add 1 tbsp each of cinnamon and clove plus 2 tbsp of Italian seasoning to 1 quart of water, simmer on low then allow to cool. Add a couple of drops of dish soap and 2 tbsp crushed fresh garlic then strain and spray on plants especially the underside of the leaves the same as other miticides, every 2-3 days for two weeks.
