[FONT=&quot]Hey All,

Ok, so I want to switch over to Advance Nutrients and well I talked to their tech guys and they told me a way of feeding I'd never heard before so I wanted to see if anyone has ever used or heard of this method.

The guy said that I should dump the rez every week. Ok fine. When I used their Nutrient Calculator, it showed for example line 1 (chart attached).

Week 1 needs to be at 1000ppm

Lets just take the first product of the many lined up.

Product
Week 1
Sensi Bloom A 323.62ml Ok ok ----> What I'm getting at is below:

The guy at Advance Nutrients said (and I called him like 4 times to confirm what he told me.) said that I have to change my rez every week and that (as noted on chart) my rez is not to be at 1000ppm when I dump it. That the 1000ppm is what my plant should consume during that week, (week 1).

In other words: All the products listed on chart for each week have to be divided by 7 because of rez change for every week. He said divide by 5 but a week is 7 to me.

So lets take the first product circled in green. Sensi Bloom A which is 323.62ml so I have to divide 325.62 / 7 = 46.51ml

And do that all down the line of products as well for that particular week.

NOW, the reason he says that I have to divide everything by 7 (days) is because as long as I have a large enough rez that will last a week without topping off with water, I need to divide the 1000ppm of week 1 one into 7.

In other words, again, 1000ppm / 7 = 142.85ppm

He says that my rez (which if can last a week without topping it off with water, just adjust the PH) will need to be at 142.85ppm, that's it, no higher.

That after 7 days, my plants will have consumed 142.85ppm per day for those 7 days which then will equal out to 1000ppm for the week that my plants needed.

So I asked him, if I make a rez at the 142.85 on Monday and on Sunday my tank should be about 3/4 empty.... my ppm will (under let say perfect conditions, lights temp, etc.) be sitting around the 142 mark? He said yes, and that my plants will have eaten the 142ppm per day(7) adding up to the 1000ppm that your plants need to be at week 1.

Now this is coming straight from Advance Nutrients Tech Support themselves. I've never heard of this method and none of my buddies have either. Maybe I just never heard of it or, well, something is deadly wrong here.

Can someone or anyone please explain or call them OR tell me if this is truly a method used and I'm a complete fool.

I tried to make this as clear as possible but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I have never heard this, but it seems right. I change my res weekly. I use the recommended amts for + program. My ppm meter never gets as high as the chart says. I do top the res daily and have noticed a drop in ppms between changes. My plants are very healthy and yield is very good (15-18 0z per). Hope this helps

Hey genusis, sorry for the late response. You say you never heard of this but it seems right? Please send me a link to the + program to better understand what you mean. Also, 15-18oz per plant? If yes, what system are you using and how tall are they before you chop? Please clarify for me thanks!!!!!
