Are any of the lower branches, the actual buds going brown? This happens when branches have a low access to light, or are completely shaded from the light by other branches.

It's good to trim the lower branches... still good to trim them now, as you can harvest the trich's, by turning them into oil. These branches will never produce quality buds anyway, and the growth would be best directed into the larger topward branches.

IMO, is 'in my opinion'.

no their not brown yet so ill trim them off. since i now have an ec meter i know how bad my previous method was, which was the S.W.A.G. method. so i look forward to having a much better grow. also how often should i ferterlize? in ffof. would a chlorofil meter be helpful also?

when you started fertilizing did you start with half the recommended strength and work your way up to the full recommended strength solution? Sometimes going from none to full leaves behind excess salts in the grow medium and the salts block the roots from actually absorbing the nutrients. So less is actually more, and keep in mind that a less nutrient soil is healthier than an over fertilized soil.

This is why an ec meter is an essential tool for knowing how much nutes are in your medium.

I don't use caution... I feed, feed, feed, feed, flush only right at the end, the final week-10 days. The amount of nutes per litre of water (or ec) is the correct amount you should have at all times... right till you need to up (or down after mid-flower point) the dose the next week.

The ec meter gives you a comfort zone, and once you know what your plants can take... it's happy days.

Just lost that last post...

Anyway, check for insects on the underside of your leaves. Moth worms (which I have myself) are maybe 2-3mm long, and are a light brown colour. Prey it isn't spidermites.

Chances are the mottled leaves are insect damage.

PPM meter in the states :)
Yeah I know... bit of a nightmare trying to do conversions. Our ppm conversion is also different to yours. Luckily, my truncheon has both ppm readings, but most importantly, an EC reading. PPM is after all converted from ec. The meter picks up the electrical conductivity and this is then converted into ppms.

Also buy a syringe. You should be able to pick one up in the baby section of a drug store. A tablespoon is not an adequate way to measure out nutes. Too easy to make slips. A tbsp, is 15ml... just in case you didn't know. Of course, things could be different in the US, they usually are.

I beg to differ... george bush is merely a product of this current society of lies and deceit. Money is the root of all evil (thankyou 7x', oh and the bible:mrgreen:). It is money that controls our governments, they are powerless against it. Now ask yourself who controls the money... and you will have the answer to the woes of the world.
