Lol, it was a question people. And sorry whoever said there is no such thing as rootbound but I firmly believe there is.

Never been in a growing forum that says there is no such thing as rootbound despite several years of growing myself.

yes check the ph of both the water you are using and the ph of your soil runoff. Could be overfert....or abnormal ph locking out certain nutrients. I'm pretty sure its one or the other.

Not rootbound are they?

yes I agree... Butterfly... can I see a picture that is a bit wider, of the entire plant..

cheers

BTW - your stalk looks GREAT!

How is the new growth... the very top of the plant? are th fan leaves in top, the biggest ?

You've definitely overnuted. This can cause all sorts of other problems. As you've gotten this far I'm assuming you have your ph sorted.

You've flushed already... I really should advise you to keep feeding plain ph'd water for a while... although I'm wary of doing this as you could also have a deficiency in one or other nutes.

What nutes are you using?

the reason i dont think its root bound is because i transplanted it from a 2 gallon to 5 gallon 2 days b4 i started to flower so do u still think it could be root bound? if so how do i fix it?

Looks chipper and crisp and alive!! congrats!!!

I don't think they are root bound...

What is rootbound anyway...? Rootbound is oxygen deprivation.. correct? the roots are so smashed up and in soggy GUNK that they need to be transplanted...

If they are rootbound in a 5 gallon container, it is probably because of poor watering technique, bad medium... or a combination of both...

Thanks for the pics.. looks like you are gonna yield some nice CHRONIC!!!

I feel it is best to look at a plant as a whole. Just one leaf is never enough to tell the whole story.

I'm pleased your plants have started to go green again, and they do look very healthy. Goodluck with the rest of the grow.

any help would be appreciated is this over fert or under? plant is in 12/12 for 17 days now in fox farms ocean forest had been giving big bloom 1 table spoon every watering. it looks like like lack of nitrogen to me but i dont want to give any fert till im sure please help.
If you are using fox farms big bloom, that's too much unless you have several plants you're feeding. You're supposed to mix one tbl spoon with one gallon of water, so, unless you're giving your plant a whole gallon of water at every feeding you are over doing it. In addition, Big Bloom has very little nitrogen, try supplementing it with their Tiger Bloom product.

Also buy a syringe. You should be able to pick one up in the baby section of a drug store. A tablespoon is not an adequate way to measure out nutes. Too easy to make slips. A tbsp, is 15ml... just in case you didn't know. Of course, things could be different in the US, they usually are.

In the US a tbsp is 15ml and a tsp is 5ml. What I forgot to mention is that fox farms has the wrong ratio of nutrients per gallon printed on the bottle! To get the correct formula you can pick up a chart at any grow store that stocks their stuff. I've been using their products for 3 grows now and it's my favorite by far.
edit: For measurements I use a children's cough medicine spoon, it's essentially a cheap and easy to find graduated cylinder.

ok thanks guys i just got an EC meter and i have one of those baby syringes i will use it the crispy ends went soft and today their crispy again havent watered or nuted it since sunday got any sugestions?the soil seems to have dried out. would u suggest watering with some combo of grow and flower nutes?

The parts of the leaves that are crispy will never go green again. they are dead. Pull them off now, and just trim the brown parts of the leaves off that are still yellow, or green.

Now feed, plain ph 6.0 water. Keep an eye on the yellow parts of the leaves that you have left. They should go green again within the next couple of days..

Also, you said brown spots, I may be taking this a little too literally but you don't spray your leaves do you?

Now you have an ec meter, things will get much easier. If you can pick up the foxfarms chart then this should help you a lot. Although I use Advanced Nutrients (the best), if you can't pick up a chart, just tell me what stage you are at in development and I shall tell you the EC range to choose.

OK. I just remembered I'll also need to know what strain you are growing. As you are approaching the mid-way point, this is around the time you need to peak your ec levels.

It's best, imo, to peak at 2.0 ec. I've tried going to 2.2 before and it led to slight overnute. Yet there are strains that may only like to peak at 1.8 ec. This is why we grow from clones, the seed plants help us learn about the strain/phenotypes we are growing. So that when our next (or what I call 'REAL') crop comes through we are better able to maximise our yields.

If you feel you have flushed enough to again start feeding, I wouldn't recommend you go straight to 2.0 ec. I'd come in real low, maybe 0.9-1.0 ec. See how it goes.
