As a relatively new grower and an old school connoisseur of everyone's favorite herb, I often find myself guilty of a noobish behavor- babysitting my baby...lol. However as harvest time approaches and my girls start to change color to a nice healthy amber i noticed strange light green growths protruding from my buds.. so i have to ask? what is it? any guesses? help me out here im kinda at a loss

ps for the admins-
i hope this is the right section for this, forgive a stoner and place it correctly if its not

*bump* this thread ;)
No guessing game involved that is a banana. A male flower, they often appear when the little lady is about finished. Normally they will not produce pollin so is a popular belief. I would just take tweezers or a pair stats and gentley pull them off. You will be fine. Good luck she is looking very yummy.bongsmilie

Male flowers are easily identifiable, but I think he's taking about immature female seedpods, or inner seedpods pushing out. I don't know what they're called but I'll see if I can post a closeup pic of one

No it's not a male flower.

These started popping around the same time the calyx swelled, and i almost freaked when I saw them and started plucking them. I believe it's an aborted calyx, because I found some that looked like they had hairs sticking out.

Well what's it called?

That is a pollen sac.
Your plant is making a last ditch effort to pollenate itself.
Could be, but I see them coming out of the calyx itself, but maybe I'm baked :eyesmoke:

Here's a couple more shots of the ones I left on. I have no seeds anywhere as far as I can tell

This is the best pic I have of one:

pics of the bush last night of flower, i had to kill the cfls to get good pics, normally theres alotof light in there... note the purty orange spiral buds... i just wish i knew what strain it was. the buds LOOK fluffy but the bastards are incredibly dense, sticky and heavy, i had to use 2 10awg steel rods to tie it up the last 3 weeks of flowering

damn what strainn is that bra?
i only wish i knew. the seed came from bagseed, but my bagseed is typically a cut above most ;)

i DO know i got the seed up in boston,, 2 years ago. it was 1 seed in a quarter of some high grade dank going around at the time. (jewel in the rough)

from my online research on identifying strains, it looks to me like it may be from the 'orange bud' strain, maybe hybridized with a sativa? my knowledge on genetics tho is def limited so i was hoping some fellow heads could point me in the right direction.

if i had been thinking i would have cloned it but i wasnt thinking so its the only specimen i got
*update
some one tells me it may be a kali mist hybrid

Can anyone positively identify these. They pop toward the latter part of flower, and look light green at first, and then like this, a couple weeks later. Is this an immature male flower of something else?
