if my plants were sat in a tray of water for a couple of days could this cause them to display the same effects as the compost being too hot or a low ph?

If you leave you plants in stale (Stagnent) water the roots at the bottom will drown and rot because the water is not being oxygenated and bacteria will grow much faster in those lighting conditions eg. algie wich is also not good for your plant(s) it is not recomended that you do it .. get someone you can really trust to water them with very clear instruction on how much fertaliser and water etc ....

What big bud said, but u can allow your plants to sit in water they can drink within 24hrs over that they will get root rot but also if roots are not at bottom of container you could be ok, but i believe your question is does it cause yellowing and leaf curling? did it have nutes in the water? maybe over feed? maybe overwatered? i m just guessing if u can tell LOL ;0) try this link http://www.420magazine.com/forums/p...abis-plant-pest-problem-solver-pictorial.html
