Plants hermied with 2 weeks to go!!

So last week there was a power outtage here where i live and the girls got 5 less hours of light than normal, causing them to hermie, thats my guess atleast. my question is, is this enough time for them to produce seed or is it not gonna make much of a difference? I plan on cutting in roughly 2 weeks, give or take a day or 2.

Ive gotten good weed when this happened, i just pull off the hermie sacks, and make sure to do it often enough so they dont let any pollen out. If you are that far along, i would sure try at least and obviously keep the hermie plant separate from others. I wouldnt have thought 5 extra hours of dark would cause that but i dont know.

that was not caused by the power outage, it is light during the dark period that matters. its because the level of flowering hormone is reduced lower than where it should be and it gets the plant confused. On the other hand having more flowering hormone than needed for flowering doesnt matter at all. It is actually somewhat normal on some strains to put out non-functional male flowers towards the very end. you've got nothing to worry about most likely. do you have any pics?

If they weren't seriously effected and are literally at the beginning stages of hermie, then yes, you can pull the bananas & pollen sacs carefully and hopefully you can catch them all so it doesn't all release and get worse. If you start seeing serious seed production, just pull. The plant will start using most of it's energy on seeds, and while you will gain more weight, this will pretty much be all seeds and thc production will stop. So there's really no point in pushing a hermie too far. Sorry to hear that homes!

I'd recommend beginning a WATER ONLY FLUSH if you have not already. This will help your plant finish, improve aroma, smoke, & flavor.

Best of luck!

less light hours means less time to the end but less end product also, whats the strain + breeder ?

if u flash from that soon they will just stop swealing leading in fluffy buds ( or atleast flufier than they should )

7 days is enough time for a bean to form , they need a bit more than 14d to be mature and in state where they can be planted

ya one time of no light wont be the cause. more to it than that. 2 weeks isnt enough to make seed . it will slow up a bit but wont be a big deal. id leave em to finish.

Thanks for the opinions guys. As far as strain it is Northern lights, not sure the number or where the origin. got some clones from a buddy. I do have some pics, not of the male flowers because I am using my comp camera and the resolution isnt good enough, but I just snapped these pics. sorry in advance for poor quality, the macbook can only do so much! Light leak is prob what really happened. I've got my room pretty well lightlocked but in the morn there is a little light that peeks in the room and might slip in some cracks. I'll work on fixing that before I move some more girls in.
