Plants Don't Smell...

Hey all!

This is my first grow, I first planted my seeds in the middle of November, and just switched to flower about 3 or 4 weeks ago. They smelled amazing during vegetative growth, and every time I opened the tent I would get a massive hit of odor straight to the face. As far as genetics go, I was told they are "Moondawg," I can't find much information on it, and I was just given them by an older lady at a farmers market.

However, ever since switching to flower it seems as though the smell has really decreased - which really confuses me because I was under the impression that it was supposed to start smelling ever more at this point. I don't think it is something I could go nose blind to, and my girlfriend noticed they smell less as well.

Admittedly, I am half assing my grow, and add my nutrients at pretty random points. However, I don't see too many signs of obvious deficiencies. My friend did tell me that my plants look stressed because they only get 3 fingers per leaf, but I haven't really researched how to fix this or what causes this yet. Regardless, I literally have buds starting to form so it just confuses me. I am using General Hydroponics, I think the FloraBloom and I forget the name of the other one - the green one that is for veg. A friend told me to add the General Hydro Micronutrient formulation to the mix, but I haven't been out to the local hydroponic store since then.

Has anyone else experienced this??

The smell of your plants will change drastically over its lifespan. The flowers generally aren't going to be their most fragrant until close to harvest. It is also likely you've gotten more used to the greener smells of vegetative plant growth over time.

Your plants do seem like they could be healthier, but nothing is seriously wrong here. I love the Flora series from GH. You should definitely use all three products in the line (Gro, Bloom and Micro). Make sure to follow the feed chart and ph adjust your solution and check the PPM/EC of your runoff regularly.
