Plants 18/6 = noobs 19/5

Oh man. I've been reading SOO much on this forum and I'm so excited to have a couple few day old sprouts, that I find myself obsessing over them. I'm also just proving out my system, but it seems like I've been getting about 5 hours if that, per night. So my plants are on 18/6 and I'm on 19/5 LOL. Waking in the morning just to make sure the lights come on when they're supposed to. I even have a webcam streaming so I can check on them throughout the day (and night????), and it takes a picture every 5 minutes so I can monitor progress. I'm sure as I get more comfortable leaving a fire hazard running when I'm away, and finally stopfidgetingwith my timers and wire ties; get more comfortable leaving the house with all this going, I'll be less paranoid. But for now this is very new and exciting to me

I find myself obsessing over things that aren't even problems yet. Like my temp swung like 8 degrees from lights on hot to dark night, and I'malreadytrying to come up with the prefect heating plan for that. I thought I over watered my babies the other day, so I put paper towels under the pots to soak some water out, and in the end the pots dried out really fast, so I guess I would have been fine leaving the extra water in.

Just to set up the basic elements took me months of planning/buying/modifying. And it's not like I'm doing some King grow I'm doing a couple plants in a 27cu.ft. storage cabinet.

It's all a learning experience for me. I've got the WORST self-proclaimed green thumb of anyone I know, so every day that they stay green and continue to grow, I'm happier than the last. I'm just going to set myself up fordisappointmentright off the bat so if anything derives it will be more than I expected. I've had plenty of hobbies before, and I knew this one was going to be involved, but damn I'm freaking engulfed, and my babies are so freaking tiny I feel it's overkill for them, but I know someday they'll need all the light and air and everything else I've made for them. So I'll continue to make the baddest ass grow closet I can engineer.

Great site here guys thanks for all your informative posts. I've attach ed a couple of pics of of the girls at 2 days old..

It's better to be over careful than not careful enough! I'm sure with all you're preparation and observation you'll do good man. I had a really crappy start and my first plant is still recovering from some bad nute burn haha. I'm definitely going to be watching your grow man. And in my opinion your little babies look great! Way better than mine looked at that time! Good luck man! Sub'd.

If you think it is a fire hazzard then you should probably fix it, if your just obssesing over nothing; smoke a J and relax.

regards,

Damn right it's all a learning experience! I still kinda obsess over my babies(my first grow) but I noticed the more I looked at them and as time goes on, I stopped looking so much. Basically I stopped stressing aboutthe "What If's..." and I feel more in control of my grow. Lol, hard to put into words.
I'm happy the lil sprouts doing good! Def. be following you buddy. GL!bongsmilie

on my second grow now... i know so much more. i care about my plants but much more relaxed and let them do their thing more now. since my plants have gotten big i worry much much less about them since they look so sturdy. good luck in your grow

Thanks guys. I just noticed I put up the same picture twice.

I'm growing in light warrior. I'll elaborate more when I get home. As good as these are phones are, its just not easy yet.

HI again guys,

So yeah I'm using the LW. Works well I suppose, but it dries out quickly from what I've read. I needed to re-water last night at about 48 hours since their first.

Thanks for the compliments on the little sprout. That's #1. I accidentally put up #1 twice. #2 is similar but taller, and the main leaves are a little lighter.

Using LW, RO water.

I have a DIY cabinet I made out of an old office cabinet, it's about 27cu.ft, but I'm going to try a perpetual so about 3' on top and about 2' on the bottom, adjustable of course. I have some diamond mylar and it's exhausted pretty well. I have 8-2' t5's again diy because the cabinet is pretty shallow @ 16", no 8 light fixtures would fit. I'd like to try the 8 t5's for flowering the first time but I'm prepared to need a HPS. Right now I have 4 t5's on and they are about 1' away from the soil. Seems like temps are from 75ish to 68 at night. As the t5's get closer the heat goes up to 82 max. I a couple pc fans acting as an air curtain between the lights and the plants so I can bring the t5's very low when they get bigger.

I plan to use AN's 3 part GMB, and some supporting chems like vodoo, b-52, and some others. I'll ph adjust tap water when they get bigger.

Here's a couple of the setup as it is now. I posted this a couple days ago with more details:

That's a very nice setup! Well layed out, clean and tidy. Well done and good luck man(Even if u are a bit ocd at the moment lol) Happy growing.

Relax, and dont do what I used to do as a newbie. Lots of new growes think that the more you water them the more they are gonna grow. Thats so wrong, the roots need to be dried too. Only water then e soil is drying on top. Once every two days depending on you indoor

Hahaha you're stressing it a bit too much in my opinion, especially for this stage of the growth :D With that pace you'll be a total trainwreck during the flowering stage. Thumbs up for the setup though, looks hifi!
