planting question

i am wondering what the purpose is of starting with a small pot and then transferring to a larger pot?

would it be wrong if i planted directly into the bigger bot to avoid transferring?

Not wrong, just an inefficient allocation of precious grow space.

i always start big it cuts down on the possbility of shock but yeah the only downside is space lost for instance 10 plants started from seeds could fit in a 2 foot by 2 foot area in small pots and u could concentrate the light on them easyer where if you had 5 gallon pots to start u couldn't clump them nearly as close
