I have auto think different about 2 weeks in since sprout used to be under a 400 wat hps but i had to dim it out to 50% so 200 watts now because of heat issues... today the leaves looked like they were dropping... first though was overwatering... but i havent watered them for 6 days now.... the plant is in a 5 gallon pot and im using fox farms soil... i want to water them but the soil is still moist/damp... need some advice por favor :D

ok i just checked the bag of fox farm i had and the soil seems to feel about the same... so i am assuming it needs to be watered.. any suggestions?

You need to water the plant slowly so it soaks in well- use enough water to completely saturate all the soil- you should get some "runoff' out the drain holes... if in drip-pans, leave it for an hour or so- then dump whatever they do not soak up... do not water again until the top 2 inches of soil are dry and the planter feels light... and water the same way again.
WHICH Fox Farms soil? there are at least 6, all different and all have different uses and needs.... ;)

its the ocean forest kind... what im scared of is that last time i watered it was 6 days ago and it did get drainage and i exactly did what you said... watared... waited for a couple of mins too see if water gets drained out... then watared again... and when i saw the drainage starting... i waited for an hour or so and emptied out the water.... but if the plant is only about 2 weeks old... what happens to the water on the bottom half of the pot? since roots (at least i dont think so) are not yet reached all the way down there... does the water slowly evaporate or what? i just dont want to screw up my plant and over water on accident even though i havent watered for 6 days... just want to make sure everything runs smoothly

I always mix whatever I buy soil wise in at least a 80/20 soil to perlite mix depending on the soil (even if it`s already in there!). You should be shooting for water every 4-5 days in the beginning and the plant will tell you when it need more (like now for instance). If you`re drooping but have a dark green, they`re likely just thirsty.

Water them up, the FFOF will have what they need for most of veg if you water to the above schedule. Try it out, let us know how the plants fare, my guess is they perk up within a day. Happy growing,

KC :weed:

just got back from the gym and walllaa they are almost back to normal.... not drooping anymore but the tip is still a bit facing down... hopefully by tommorow they are good
