These youngins are only about 2 weeks old. I know the pics aren't the best but my phone sucks so Im sorry. they are all kush plants. but the problem is if you notice some of the leaves are turning yellow and look like they are dying off on the tallest one. but I felt the leave and its not dry so its not heat stress or too strong light. the leaves are soft to the touch. im thinking its a nutrient deficiency of somesort but I don't know what it could be that's why I need help?!?! im a beginner grower by the way but I do have the knowledge to grow plants but im still learning about different growing techniques and deficiencies etc...

as you can see I have made a mini grow box. on the inside iv placed aluminum foil all around. I have the plants in pea pots with organic and miracal grow potting mix mixed together. I keep them water and I also feed them plant food but its not the liquid. I also add new soil to them at least once a week or every other week. they get watered with dasfani bottled water. the bulb im using is a flourscent 60w. I have holes in the box for circulation I also have a trap door to open so I can blow a little heat in the grow box. the plants get plenty of light and plenty of time is the dark. im home 4 days a week with them and I place them in my growing box and give them 18 hours of light, and if possivle 6 hours of darkeness if im able to be home in time to put them back under light, if not I place them in my window seal protected by a blanked with a white trash bag of the window so they get some light and then just adapt when it turns dark outside. I also keep them in the windowsill a week at a time and water them and leave them and then the 4 days im home I give them the artificial light in the grow box. they are in vegetation stage so I know you can do 18/6 lighting or 24/0. so they get some sunlight and some of the 60w fluorescent, so pretty much half and half kinda. I feed them once a week with watering because the peapots absorb the water. where I live its winter and its very cold but once spring time hits I plan on putting these babies outside and just letting them grow freely in the wild. im just wanting to start up plants now because spring is a couple months away, I want them to be strong enough to be outdoors. anyway that's my plan and my growing situation. my problem is the discoloration of the leaves and they seem like they are dying on the tallest plant. also if you look closely on the smallest plant the bottom baby leave is turning yellow and curling up. but the leaves are a beautiful bright green as you can see. I think they look healthy. my worry is the yellow spots.

can somebody diagnose this for me and help me out?? and if anybody has any tips please feel freee to comment them!!

the medium sized plant is beautiful, its doing wonderful. it doesn't have any yellow spots at all. all its leaves are green and healthy and its stem is strong. i might put them in the ground when i put them outdoors but if i don't and i put them in pots i was thinking of getting all foxfarm products.

Your soil looks like it has no drainage, and the aluminum foil needs to go. Plain white paper is better. That's a start.

Ok so I did remove the aluminum foil and replaced it with white paper and I transfered the plants over to big plastic cups with holes in the bottom so they can drain. I also bought some all organic soil and put them in it 2ith miracle grow liquid plant food. Hopefully this will help!! Thanx for the advice! Although my tallest plant isn't looking so well I'm hoping tomorrow it willperk up.

Your headed in the right directions. Soil still looks a bit heavy. I like perlite and lots of it early.

What is you lighting?

Boy am I glad to see that foil gone though. Phew!

I changed my soil to an organic seedling starter soil and got some liquid miracle grow food. I transplanted them carefully as you can see in the new pic I posted but I got up this morning and I had left the light on them last night and both bigger plants were drooping, I had to throw the tallest one away. And the medium size one I'm going to still give it time to maybe perk up. Idk what I did wrong I was careful transplanting. The light I have on them is a 60w fluorescent bulb. When I transplanted them I mixed the soil with water and the plant food and watered them again once I got them transplanted. The soil does have good drainage now. What lighting cycle should I do?? I need help!!! Idk what I'm doing wrong! Like I said before I do give them half artificial light and half sun. Somebody help me out!! I don't think these other 2 will make it but I'm still having hope! I do have 3 other seeds germinating and I'm going to do them better this time!!

Also the new soil is very light and fluffy so I think its perfect for starting them! My last soil was thick I'm glad I changed it.

Any reason you can't leave them in the light box with a timer when you're gone, The less change in temps and lighting is preferable, imo and don't know where you are, but putting plants on sills in the winter can cause problems. Also, not a fan of Miracle Grow, but if you're on a budget it'll do but not ideal (and as a beginner my advice is ALWAYS err on the side on not enough - too much nutes is the bane of new growers, lol).

Finally can you check your humidity? I mention this because it is possible that the brown leaves could be a sign of a fungal infection (just a possiblility). You can get a cheap hygrometer at Wallly World, and while they aren't very accurate they're better than nothing, (sometimes, except when they're really off and then they can cause you problems which is why I'd suggest getting 2 different types, digital and analog and then average the two ;?). They are an important tool imo, because too much humidity can lead to problems especially in the late bloom stage).

I do have a digital timer but im unsure how to use it. Its a nice one too its a brinks security timer. I'm scared of the box or something catching on fire even tho I have it on the timer. What lighting cycle should I use?

I am going to try to figure out how to use the timer. Also I don't think humidity is a problem. I keep that under control. I think the defect in the plants was a nutrition problem.I am on a budget so iI can't go all out like I said I plan on putting these bad boys outside and letting them grow with the wild lol. This is a learning progress for me as I am a beginner so I'm pretty much doing trial and error here. I'm just trying to get advice from people who know more of what they are doing, on here. I never saw a sign of any fungus on the plant or on the roots when I was transplanting or anything. Is giving the plants have sun and half artificial light bad? Even tho they are in the window seal they still have heat getting to them.
