Plant height questions

I have my lights in normal horizontal hoods. I was wondering what is the maximum desirable height before cutting the lights back? Right now they are approximately 2 1/2 ft tall. They are wider than normal because I super cropped them last week. I am going to do it again in a few days just to keep the height down. I plan on vegging them for another 3 weeks and I intend on them being no more what 3 ft tall at that time, just much wider than they are now. I have 4 plants under each 1000W. I have to keep the #s down here.

If you veg for 3 more weeks they are going to be way more than 3ft tall. I'd switch them right off seeing how they will almost double in size during the first few weeks of 12/12.

I am super cropping them to keep the height down for now. I also need to install the reflective plastic to keep out any light leakage before I cut back. Right now if I cut them back I would have a problem because I have light leakage and the 6 hr down time is during the night so I don't have an issue. Hopefully I will have it installed by next week.

I would cut back the light a week or so after you super crop em next time, and watch them side shoots grow up in the fist two weeks of 12/12
