Plant Health Check

Hey guys, just wondering if any veterans could tell me how my first grow is looking? I've started to notice some discoloration between the veins of the biggest fan leaves and worried this may be early signs of a problem. I hope you can make it out in the images. The weird haircut is the result of me fkin missing my first FIM attempt 5 days ago.

Strain: Seedsman Amnesia Fast
Medium: 70/30 Coco+Perlite mix
Light: 250w HPS 25-30" clearance, 18/6 schedule.
Temp: 24-32c min/max (for like an hour each during 24h period) most of the time around 28c.
Humidity: 40-60%
Airflow: Constant air exchange via 12" fan indirectly blowing into corner of closet from outside
Age: 21 days (3 weeks)
Pot: 5 gal fabric pot, raised above tray
Last feed: 4L of 5.9ph 1.3ec+, 10-20% run-off @ 0.7ec+ (tapwater and 1.8ml/L canna coco a+b ).
2nd Last feed: 4L 6.1ph 1.1ec+, 10-20% run-off @ 0.5ec+ (tapwater and 1.5ml/L canna coco a+b).
Feed freq: every 2-3 days.

pH may be inaccurate since pen has not been recently calibrated. buffers not going to arrive for another 5 days. It does seem accurate, saying my 0.5ec tapwater is around 8.5ph fresh and around 7.5ph after standing for 24+ hours. Oh also I use distilled vinegar as a ph down after mixing in nutes and directly before feeding. I think thats everything. Please let me know what you think and thank you.

looks okay. Honestly, it’s a little small in a big pot for coco. I bring my 4ft plants through to harvest in 3gal pots with coco. It’s fine, though, your watering frequency is reduced to compensate. You will need to increase that to fertigate up to 3x daily during flower.

Keep on keeping on, let it fill some roots and build some veg. I may see a nutrient deficiency, but I don’t think so yet. It may be a matter of it having small roots in a big pot of nutrients. Check back in in a week?

ok, so there are a number of potential issues...

usually with Cannabis plants grown from seeds, leaf sets develop normally like this, per node:
- Cotyledon
- 2 1-fingered leaves
- 2 3-fingered leaves
- 2 5-fingered leaves
...
depending on the strength of irradiance & spectrum, this can develop up to 13-fingered leaves.

Now in your case, the leaves coming from the third node are lacking already, reason:
Light: 250w HPS 25-30" clearance, 18/6 schedule.
that's too far away IMO

What are you doing for Mg? This is what you're beginning to see.

If you're questioning your pH....don't. BE SURE of it...it's an important variable to know and manage when running coco. And for the record, you don't need the latest and greatest pH probe...simple drops will get you there, and no calibration needed.

Dial in your pH first, and figure out what you're offering your plant in terms of Mg.

It only dawned on me that the pots were oversized after ordering them, wasn't sure about 5 gallons and messed up my conversion to liters :eyesmoke:Because of this I ended up potting up from a yogurt cup into that monstrosity haha it looked so ridiculous only last week but thankfully has been making good progress filling it out, thanks for this mate. I'm a bit constrained by time and only looking to do a 30 day veg so i can flower for atleast 8 weeks because I have to go away middle of October, hopefully it doesn't disadvantage my plant too much. I will definitely be ordering some smaller pots next grow and potting up more efficiently.

I had no idea dude! Thanks for this. It sucks that I've butchered the first actual set of 5 fingered leaves coming in on the 4th node but hopefully the 5th come in fast. As you can see from my temps I can't move the light much lower atm, I've actually just had to increase the distance as we've been hit by a gruelling heatwave :( My ventilation is seriously lacking atm with only the fan for intake and passive exhaust out the back of closet that sits 2-3cm from wall (theres no back to it, air escapes out the sides and top of closet). In 2 weeks time, after flipping to flower, I'm going to seal the grow space off, get another fan and install 4" inline with carbon filter and ducting - exhausting near window or through wall into garage. i think i'm really pushing my luck here, this is quite a ghetto grow with a very tight budget lol, once this is done and weather has cooled off i'm hoping to be able to lower light and even push it to 400-600w if temps allow.

Well said bro, I'm simply relying on 0.5ec hardwater and canna a+b with a wee squirt of vinegar for good measure lol... and of all the deficiencies, either this and/or lack of iron seems the most probable for yellowing between veins of newer growth. For the past 2 nights i've given it a little foliar spray of a weakened a+b solution at 0.7ec+ immediately after lights out. The plant seems to like it and absorbed every last drip within 15 minutes with no discernible effects after a little droop. Would you suggest I introduce some epsom salts? I don't know if a+b has enough mg in it, or maybe the over abundance of calcium in my water is locking out the mg? I read something about that from somewhere lol. Cheers for the kick up the arse reminder about PH mate, hopefully dialled in soon. Really not liking the uncertainty haha.

Still looks very healthy. You have a lot of tips but in no way have you screwed this up or butchered anything. Cheers.
Yasss thanks dude! I'm determined to grow some dankness. This is now my only purpose in life haha. It's due another feed in 12 hours. Think I should keep giving it 1.8ml per litre of a+b @ 1.3ec (650ppm)? :D only have 8-9 days before i gotta switch to flower if i wanna stay on schedule.
