My friend is wanting to try changing a plants colour by feeding it with food colouring, i've said it wont work but then when i came to think of it, why wouldn't it? Has anyone ever experimented with it? What do you think would happen?
You guys must be total newbs. The plants root system will filter the dye out. You also cant inject your plant with the colors either. Its a BIG NO...NO!!
Why would u wanna change the color anyway? So u can tell people you have some crazy rainbow weed when u should have put the effort of dying them into growing them properly. Focuse on growing dank buds and the color won't mean two shits to people.

I seen a couple people changing the color by adjusting the p/h of the soil. Can't remember where I sen it. They hed some unique colors. I am sure it affects the yeild. I will try to find the web site or thread.
Yeah, but you gotta love their "enthusiasm" lol.
they'll learn.. eventually. I've been actually growing (not just reading) for little over 3 or 4 years now and I still learn new shit about the cannabis plant.
We all started at the same point..
peace.
It is not easy to determine fact from fiction with all the misinformation that exists. There are many strains that change color. You can enhance some of the colors by changes in your grow environment. As far as adding food color, I have never heard of this. I can tell you, like others in this post, in general is not a good idea to add anything besides light, water and nutes.
Hang in there MJH, dont read so much you get analysis paralysis. Just grow man. It is the best education. Best of luck mate!![]()
