Planning to start again

Ok so a few years back i attempted 2 grows but due to some problems and people finding out i had to abort both grows. It broke my heart having to kill my babies. I loved opening my closet door and getting hit with the smell of caramel and pot. (I was growing a strain called caramel candy Kush.)

So i have decided to start it back up. I am in a new location and no longer hanging out with the people i used to.

Now i am planning on building a cabinet. My pans is to make the cabinet 4'x1.5'x5-5.5' LxWxH. I will then divide the cabinet into 2. 1 section will be 3' wide and the other 1' wide.

Now for the questions.

1) I plan on doing a hydro grow. I am stuck between an ebb and flow and a DWC. I would go ebb and flow but i feel with the height i have it will cut to much into my grow space. If i go DWC i was thinking on using a Rubbermaid tote that will hold all my plants. What method would you guys recommend?

2) how many plants do you think i could fit into that space?

3) do you think that in the 1'x1.5'x5-5.5' space i could cut that into 2 (height wise) and have a mother plant section and then a section for clones/vegging the plants?

4) let me explain my design first. I plan to build it with the outside dimensions above. I will put a divider in to give me my veg/flower rooms. I am going to go with CFLs. In the flower room i am going to put the lights at the top with a piece of plexi glass between the plants and the lights. In the corners of the plexi glass i will drill multiple holes and attach pc fans blowing the air up from the pant section to the light section. The intakes will be located in the bottom 4 corners of each chamber. I will drill holes and put a computer fan sucking air up. I will use cardboard on both sides to block light and angle my air flow.

Now for the veg room i have an idea but i don't know if it will work. I will cut the veg side into 2 sections for my mother and then for the clones to veg until they move over. I was thinking i will put the mother above the clones and make the self 1'x1' and center it. This will allow a 3" gap on the front and back side of the shelf for air to move up. I wont use plexi glass on this side. I will again put pc fans as an intake in the lower corners, like above.

I was thinking of taking 6" off the top so i could have the air of the 2 chambers connect as an exhaust section. If i take a piece that is 3' and center that i have 6" on either side (so i now have a 6" section in the grow box that has 6" open on either side )| ___ | -top will be closed and the 2 chambers will be under that). (I will adjust this to the size of my computer fans.) I will then line that gap with 2-3 fans on both chambers blowing air up. I will then take a piece of wood that is 4.5" high and attach it to the roof of the exhaust chamber on either side and then about 2-3" from that i will attach a second 4.5" piece of wood to the bottom of the exhaust chamber (think of think of the video games where you have to jump over and obstacle and duck or slide under another). This means there is a 1.5" section that is overlapped on both sides. This should allow for no light to escape. I will also put a piece of wood the entire length that will block the exhaust chamber of completely so you wont be able to see into it with the door open. The top of the cabinet will have to come off for access to this chamber. At the top of this i am going to use one of the fans above stoves as an exhaust. I will then find the plastic material that is a bunch of squares ( i cannot think of what it is called, its white grid of like 1/2" squares) and i will take a filter for a furnace ( i saw a tutorial on another site for a drying box that used something similar.) and press it onto one side, i will then fill the other side with activated carbon and then attach another piece of a filter making a sandwich. This will go above my exhaust to cut out the smell. For intake i will cut/drill holes in the bottom of the cabinet and use more computer fans pulling air up.

So now for the 4th question. Do you guys think this is a good set up? Any changes or adjustments? I will try to use paint and show you guys what i mean.

Here is an example of the design. The picture shows a box. There will be a border on the top and bottom to raise/hide the stuff above and under if that makes sense.
