Placing indoor cannabis in the sun periodically

Hello my fellow Growers I was just curious if anybody else ever grabbed their plant and pulled it from underneath the lights to place it out in the sun for the day. I put mine in the Sun for about 5 hours yesterday and I think I had about 3/4 inch growth when I looked at it this morning. Just curious if any other Growers like to supplement their light schedule with some sunshine during veg.

Nothing wrong with giving your plants some natural light. Just keep an eye out for hitchhikers when you bring them back inside.

right on, what sort of results do you encounter when you do? complications from it or stress?

I plan on growing outdoors this year so it helps to harden them up before I put them in the ground.

It's a gamble. You risk bringing pests into your grow room. I moved plants outdoors for the day for a couple of weeks but wasn't smart enough to inspect the plants closely when returned to the grow room. I got a spider mite issue that I was lucky enough to spot before it caused much damage. Another time a wind storm came up fast and beat the piss outta them. So not being an out door man I just don't do it anymore, it's rough on an indoor plant.

been doing it for yrs this pic saves me 1600 watts of mh every min they out there thing with bugs is keepem off the ground

I grow outdoor and and indoor and when my plants indoor are in flower, a few times a week during the 16+ weather I bring em out.

But always back in before 5pm so they can get an hour of their fake light in and then sleep

Glad to see so much support. I tell ya the way my plant perks up in the sun attests to it being a legit light source. I can't wait for the day I can grow some monster mamas in the sun.

I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on flowering indoor as you are almost guaranteed to eventually bring something in your room that will thrive in indoor conditions. Prevention is key, it is a pain in the ass to battle pests during flower.

I spray weekly with neem during veg whether I see bugs or not. It's especially important if you take your plants outside. I haven't had mites in years and I take advantage of every minute of real sunlight while vegging. But I inspect them when I bring them in. I'm thinking of sprinkling some neem seed meal on top of the growing medium as an added level of protection. Right now I'm more worried about aphids than anything else. I have a bunch of roses in the backyard and they are caviar to aphids.

Fair enough.

I always do that in the late winter into spring and summer. But it's very important to hardened them off properly, have neem oil or the like on hand for sure as bugs will hitchhike into your indoor room. I have put plants outside while in bud down to 40 degrees during the day sunshine before and in at night of course. Maybe I'm baked but I swear they turn out more trichy! Got one out now and 3 of the clones I took off her temps been in the 60's lately and they loving itPop
