Pistilicious

Pistils are forming all over the plants at the moment, and we've just lifted the lights to allow for more growth. We've got a couple of fridges in too, one that's about knee height and the other about waist height (3ft). We're thinking of using the knee-height one for clones and the other for a reverted, vegging mother.

It's a little too early to tell yet (maybe tomorrow), but I think that the last plant to show is going to turn out a female. It's just taking too long and it's only showing one very small pod. It looks sort of tear-shaped, I think, still too immature to know for certain. Anyway, if it is a female we're thinking of using this plant as a future mother. Will this be okay even though the plant is a runt? It's only a runt because of how badly it has suffered. Putting it back into veg', I'm assuming, is a good thing. It'll take a while before we can start taking clones but then we've only got 1 room and the plants in there have 50 odd days left to harvest. So, plenty of time really.

Even if it does turn out to be a male we're going to stick it in the fridge on 12 12 till it drops it's load, collect some of it and impregnate a female. Then after the dirty deed is done we can turn the male into hash.

Hey man in ure grow room they look like pour buckets, but what gallon are them pots you've got ure plants growing in you got any idea? thanks.

11 litres, and yes they were pour buckets. Using our engineering skills we managed to convert them. It took a few days and several diagrams but we got there in the end.

Cheers Widow, although the plants are much bigger now. I'm going to wait until I can see some proper buds before taking any more photo's. I'm looking forward to the resin, can't wait to see those trichomes forming on the leaves. A few of those'll be smoked way before harvest.

I was well chuffed with the way things are going until I saw popogro's (apologies if I've got the name wrong) set-up. He's got some bottle going for aero on his first go. I shied away from hydro, let alone considering aero.

One question, Skunk. Why would you want to make a mother out of the plant that is the last one to show sex? Short maturity times are what we favor, oh excuse me, favour.

Have you considered that she may be the last to show sex because she is a 16 week maturing strain?

The reason she is like she is is because she was the last to be re-potted. She really didn't get the chance to grow like the others. I honestly believe that it's down to us and the handling of this first grow. There were a couple of others like her and now they've shot up into shapely looking females. They're not as big as the top 8.

I don't think it's a 16 week maturer because she has one pod on her already. She's been in a good spot now for, 3rd day today, and I'm confident that I should be able to determine the sex for definite either today or tomorrow.

No need to convert to the Queen's... Pot'. I've read hundreds (thousands?) of Americanised books.
