Was thinking about doing my first grow for a long time, sorta weighing up the risk/benefit so at the end of September i decided to make the plunge and bought 5 Pineapple Chunk, Barneys Farm seeds (feminized) and planted 3 of them direct to soil since i am too impatient to germinate..

250 HPS
80x80x160 GT
4' extraction and CF
Passive Intake
Canna Terra Soil
BioBizz Nutes

I also have a small 15w fan blowing air at the 250 HPS so the plants can gt closer to the light.

IMG_0057.jpg Soon after the seedlings popping i had a cool surprise as one of them had 3 blade leaves instead of 2, Whorled Phyllotaxy apparently :D I am hoping this will mean a better yeild from this one.

I topped the plants at about 2 weeks to hopefully increase yield. They responded well and now the Whorled plant has 3 main cola tops instead of one. nice!

Sadly i broke my camera soon after i took the seedlings photos. When i fixed it the plants had progressed quite a bit and the next photos are in week 2 of flower.

When i took these they were just recovering from quite bad droop caused by under watering.

Im totally in love with my 3 bladed mutant lol and shes doing the best of the bunch so far. If anyone has any experience with whorled plants and what to expect yield wise i would be very interested to hear. I welcome any comments, suggestions also.

I will keep updating this throughout flowering and harvest (damn im looking forward to that.. :D )

Cheers

I was looking at your pic and I was going to say they looked either over watered or underwater but you say its was under watered? Also the last pic looks like she might need a little extra N what are you feeding your girls?

Yeah i am pretty sure it is under watering since they were all drooping this morning, it had been 2 days since i last watered/fed them and once i watered them this morning they perked up nicely throughout the day. I use about 1.25 litres (coke bottle) shared across them every two days> I guess that is not enough for them at their current stage? I was feeding them about 2ml per 1.25 litres of Biobizz Bio Grow through latter veg and now im easing up on them and doing 1ml Bio grow + 1ml Bio Bloom per 1.25 litres water. Soon after i switched to 12/12 i noticed the bottom leaves were yellowing so i figured it was nute burn hence the easing off of bio grow as i added the bio bloom. Thanks for the reply!

That Lower leaf yellowing doesn't look like nute burn, just lack of light penetration or a PH issue. Trust me if you get Nute burn you will see it on all your leaves, generally starts with white/burnt tips turning into dry and rusty leaves. if you check out my log you will see a bad case of it lol I'd say trim off the lower stuff on the plants anyways, as they won't produce much, better to have the plants efforts focused on the larger top flowers. Good luck! i'll be watching :)

I would agree that its not a nutz burn. Leaves die. Nothing to worry about when its the bottom ones. If ur top starts to look weird in anyway thats when u worry.
If u want to maximize ur yield next time go scrog. But it looks good. :) thinking of runnin pinapple chunck next time aswell, so i will see how ur turn out. :)
Gl og happy growing.
