Pinching.. too much?

OK, I understand pinching, but is it a good idea to pinch (and let recover, of course) the entire way through the veg stage? Will this stress a plant, when you're pinching a lot of spots on the plant at once, or should you just pinch a few times and then let it go?

pinch the top new growth only on the main stem on the very top if you want 4 main colas then let it grow out to 4-5 inter-nodes then cut off everything right above the 2nd inter-node and you'll get 4 instead of 2

What about in the case of "Super cropping"?
