pH up powder mixing formula

I have used GH pH up with good results. I then discovered that the powder was available, at a much cheaper price. However I was unable to discover, anywhere on the Internet, including the GH site how to mix up the solution. Since I was familiar with the liquid product I wanted to know how to make the equivalent using the powder.

Being unsuccessful after visiting many forums and the GH website I called the company. They were very nice and gave me the following information: use three quarters of a pound per gallon. Since 8 ounces has lasted me for more than one crop I'll need to way less than a gallon. So here are the numbers you can use:
3/4 pound per gallon=12oz=340gm=1.34 cups or... since one cup= 9 ounces

1/3 cup per quart=16 teaspoons or 5.34 tablespoons

This information should be printed on the package or at least available on the GH website.

I use potassium hydroxide flakes for pH up. I got mine from "the science company" but you can order KOH flakes from basically anywhere. I'd always rather have generic chemicals rather than "nutrients".

Although you can get dry pH down, it doesn't really make much sense. Pure nitric acid, for example, is a liquid/gas, not a solid so I doubt you'll ever find a good solid pH down. (pH down should be a liquid)

2 pounds for 6 dollars is a good deal and will last a long time and you'll wonder how the hell you went without owning KOH flakes.
