for about 6 months a friend and me have been testing ph on 3 diff setups and the results came in i am not saying that it was smooth sailing but in the end there was not much diff maybe grams thats it for 1 our soil one we had 2 one with a ph of 6.5 all the way thru and one with well we tested it once and when it was tested it came out at 7.6 final weight the ph one came in at 74.3 grams were the one with no ph adjustment came out at 72.5 coco 1 ph of 5.5 = 96.2 2 ph of wen tested 7.4 = 94.2 and final one wich was dwc i think water temp played a big factor here as we couldent be bothered with 2 water heaters but ph 1 at 5.8 no water heater = 48.1 2 with ph of wen tested was 7.2 = 72.8 but we did have a water heater in that 1. now i do no that ph does play a big part in how the plant reacts but if were only loosing grams were we are not just growing one or 2 is it really worth the hasel like after doing that not once but twice and getting not much diff in weight is ph realy worth it im not looking to start a debate just looking for input pls

Just a well you posted in Advanced ...as very few here would give a toss!

so how does the gardener test the potential hydrogen content of potting mix ....for an accurate reading ...?

through my own testing i found (NFT) and dwc can fluctuate between 5.5 - 7 6.0 - 6.5 being the average ph of the system
everything works well, i cant see any advantage to constantly maintain ph with meters and ph down/up

i have pics of it dry put not the plants i have 12 seedlings starting off again and i have one plant there thats a bit older that im trying a flat ph of 5 on seems to be doing really well
