ph test strips

okay this is in the 'newbie' section because it seems like a pretty stupid question, but here goes.
i was looking around the house to see what i did/did not have for this years grow. i found these Baqua Spa Test Strips, i'm pretty sure its for our pool we used to have, it says it tests for total alkalinity and Ph,
is this the same Ph i need to test for in the soil?
i posted a picture of what these strips look like,.


sorry for the lame question, i'm sure they probaly won't work, just trying to save some cash so i have more stasssshbongsmilie

can't see the lable should have a range of ph it will test. I found most pool test strips don't test low enough.
 
The pH strips almost always need to be for aquariums as they test from 4.5 - 9.5 typically. You need to find something that living organisms need to rely upon for life (i.e. plants, fish, etc.). You'll need to test the water before feeding the plants when using soil. Good luck bro, let me know if you need anything
