Ph soil tester. Can it be used for testing water?

Maybe this seems dumb question-

-so you know what im about- Ive just started to build and EBB&FLOW kit.
Ive been Growing Organic,,,,But buying supplies for a E&F kit, Im also on a budget. I bought every other supplys at random stores, I just need a ECph tester and nutrients,... can anyone give advice for the both supplys I need?

No the soil ph testers won't work for water. Amazon.com has some ph checkers from Hanna Inst HI98103 that are good and at a good price about $35.00 but whatever ph pen you get don't forget to pick up some calibration solution at the same time because you will need it to keep it Calibrated. They also have Fox Farm Nutes and the shipping can't be more that what it would cost you in gas to drive round trip to grow store. Hope this helps.
