PH Problems; Help Learning how to PH my soil and water supply

Ok so I’ve finally purchased a PH meter. The one i have only test for PH not temp nor TDS.

So i’ve fed my plants numerous times with a PH tester i had before, but this tester kit was the kind you had to match the color to the chart, it wasn’t a digital meter. So i know my PH levels weren’t accurate. with that being said:

I test my water that Im about to feed my ladies with and it test around 8.1 without anything being done to it, this is straight tap water.

Now I test my Run off from the bottom of my spill tray and that test at around 4.5 or 5.0 ? What do i need to do to get my Soil PH Back up to around 6.8??

Do i then take the 8.1 water and Add PH tester UP to make up for the 4.5 ?? so that would be around 1.4 up?? which would be 9.6?? IS this how i do it?? Im so confused?

Please explain. Just to say I know how to test the PH of my water. I just don’t know how to get the PH of my soil back up from 4.5 to around 6.8.

Make sure your meter is calibrated. You can buy a calibration solution at any hydro store.

If your run off is 4.5 I'd just start giving it 6.5 (ish)water and wait. Let the soil suck in the water after a couple days give it some more at 6.5 (ish) and check your run off it should be climbing at this point

You don't want the ph to go the other way and be to high. Just stay in the 6.2-6.8 range for your soil. The damaged leaves may stay damaged but new growth should be fine

Here's what ya do...put your pen up, in case you ever go to hydro, and just water with tap for soil you'll be fine. that reading from your drip tray dont mean squat.
