I got 3 Hanna meters and none lasted more than a month. After 5 years of hard daily use, I replaced my first Blue Lab combo meter- and it was used when I got it.

The going price for Bluelab pH (only) Meter is $150. I allowed a probe to dry out during a break from growing. Replacements are about $60. The cable type probes have an excellent gland seal to keep the storage solution in. (If you remember to screw down the cap.)
I was going to say, Hydrofarm Active Aqua drops can be used, depending on the situation.
