Honestly, we haven't seen any better results with higher price. We use a cheap analog meter and then use the little Ph test capsules to verify its results once in awhile. We've had digital ones go bad just as quickly as others so why pay more. Even bought their best digital tester once and it was off by 1.0 from the moment it came out of the package.

if your using some good quality soil mix i wouldn't worry about it, i think it just over complacates things. most problems come from over fertilizing or over watering. it's very rare to have a ph problem without these existing problems. just my 2 cents.

nice i wasnt gonna get one and see if i could wing it ive made it one month already, im using foxfarm ocean fresh soil, idk they seem to like it

i disagree, the most common prob growing in a pot- soil or hydro is ph variation, its the fert/salt build up that causes it to lower or raise.
If u ignore ph issues your plant will no longer be able to take up vital nutrients resulting in a dead plant.

I agree BUDS!!!! This chart is awesome and I got it from another friend on RIU. Very important to have exact pH readings!!! My grow had a lockout cause I was using a piece of shit pH meter. Spend the money and I hope this helps. +REP *BUDS!!!!!

fert/salt build up won't happen in the 3 to 4 months it takes to get a plant to maturity unless it's getting over fertilized. i never knew growing weed was so complicated until i joined a grow forum.

The chart is broken down into pH levels for Soil and Hydro. Each nutrient/micro nute shows where they become available for your plant. So if you want to maximize your plants uptake you should get a good accurate pH meter.
If you look at the different pH levels you will see at what pH levels for soil you get your maximum nutrient uptake. If your using soil, after you mix your nutes make sure its at a 6.5 pH. That way all those nutes/micros will be available for your plant.

The chart just shows you were you need to be for best nute uptake with your pH level.
Ok going across the top is the different pH levels: 6.1....6.2....6.3....6.4.....6.5.
On the left of the chart are all the different Nutes and Micro nutes
The Green Boxes = Best Available (Meaning at the pH with a green box your plant will get that nute.
The Red Boxes = Lockout (Meaning at the pH level with a red box that specific nute or Micro nute wont be available to your plant hence creating a lockout and some sort of Defieciency to come. Plus if the nute isnt available to your plant it just builds up in your soil and then your pH gets all out of whack. Unless you have a buffer like Dolomite Lime or Cal/Mag.
Pardon my stoner grammar and spelling.
So your goal is to get the most available nutes to your plant and that is accomplished at 6.5pH for soil.
The bottom section of the chart is for hydro growing.

drop 40 for a real pH meter, and check everything you feed your plants.....then you KNOW youre good...unless youre a miracle grower.
