pH meter calibration powder question.

Hey folks,

Just bought this rather cheap pH meter meter.jpgand it came with two pouches of of calibrating powder. My question is - do I need to use specific pH water(like distilled water) for the solution to reach this specific pH level or is the pH of water used not relevant? The manual it came with is just a rough translation from chinese and is not really clear about this, all it says really is "immerse the meter in buffer solution". Any thoughts on that?

I've used these sachets. The guy I bought it off said he'd tested it and found ordinary tap water was fine..I calibrated two Ph meters at the same time (one older I had been borrowing, and a new one) and there was a 0.2 difference between the two....Not sure if that last bit is relevant..?
Anyway, I haven't had any Ph related problems.
Hope this helps..

I just got the same one,I mixed with water and set it, how offen will it need to be done ?
