it does matter a bit because if you flush with water of say ph 10 it will raise your soil lvls..
actually, i read that white vinegar lowers the ph of water by about 1 point.. so if your water is neutral, add (i think 1 tsp/gal, have to re-read) and your ph should drop to 6.. in soil i heard 6-6.5 is a good number.. if you are aiming for 6, the white vinegar would be the cheapest way instead of buying ph down..
