This mixture is used more for growing mushrooms(just add brown flour), i'd suggest getting some peat or coco coir for seedlings and mixing it with some perlite.

This mixture works well 1/3 vermiculite to 2/3 perlite. I don't use a wick, just a simple hempy bucket. You have to water frequently until the roots hit the reservoir.Doesnt take alot, depending on your pot size.

Excellent info dude, being a bit lazy not googling a zillion threads and just thought id find out here. Initially i just want to germinate in it and will give this mix a go very soon.
Nah just seedlings for me but im going to make a small hempy bucket (seedling size) tonight with just perlite and see the results, im unsure if perlite will wick the water from the bottom resovoir or if i need to water every few hours or every day.
I was just going to fill a 5 inch normal pot up with perlite, bury a seed in the top layer and water, the saucer the pot sits in will act as a resovoir and if it wicks all should be good fingers crossed. I guess its close to a hempy bucket.
