Perlite? quick question

I bought some perlite because it seems like it helps with the drainage of the water but idk about how much to put. my pot is a big clay pot but not huge either. anyone know about how much perlite i should put?

I would put 10% perlite or 1/10th. if the soil has drainage issues still put another 5% in. Make sure the soil drains well before u transplant.

If you put more in, you will have to water more often, but the roots will not drown. If you put less in, you water less, but you have more of a chance of the roots suffocating.

put some perlite,gravle, charcoal in bottom of pot aswell 10-20mm thick, helpes stop drainholes in pot blocking up
