how close do you let your plants get to the light? i am always worried about bleaching. would a plant normally grow up to as much light as it can handle than stop growing?

no, when I was gone from home for 2 weeks on my last run, I had a plant growing up to the my old Fero and the bud got toasted (it must have grown 2feet taller in 2 weeks hehe), it recovered but stunted the growth. It appear that some plants will handle being very close better than other. Personally, I have come to realise that closer doesnt necessarily means bigger buds. If you are vegging you should have them far so that they stretch and you can tie them down as they stretch to keep them short, that's how you will grow many bud site. The idea is to have a lot of budsite at the same height, if you can do that then it's best to have the light 15+'' from the plants. If you have a normal plant (christmas tree like with one main cola) then you want the light as close as you can from this main cola so that the rest of the plant also get some good light. If your light is 3Watters led, it's more or less from one brand to the next. I should measure next time around but I bet you my light is quite far from the plants in my tent. Now I gotta go check it out...

the closest buds to the light are at 19'' at the moment, and buds are getting fat, it's the closest the plants have been from the light for the full grow. they were at 36''+ at the start. I was using about 300watts for about 7weeks then now 600W in that 3x3 tent... so you probably want to keep it a bit closer than I did. But keep an eye on your plants if the light is close coze once they bleach, there is no way back. no nitrogen will get them green again. especially in flowering that sucks

that is alot of stretching! im very nervous about bleaching that would just suck. i believe mine at about 9 inches away. i need to get in the tent and change things around. my tent is very small so it is hard to get everything in since it is only 36" tall.
