I got the 260 XW 3000k 288v2 kit in today. This thing is lagit.. I won' know how much heat it will add to my tent but I can guess by the looks of this guy it will be substantial. I had a cheap COB set up running at 200watts that brought up temps to 95 and the cobs had fans. Wondering if I should put a fan on it. They sell the AC Infinity AXIAL 1751, Muffin Fan on Amazon for 35 bucks. It lays flat so I'm thinking I can just lay it flat on the driver.

I bought the kit assembled so the driver is mounted in the middle, even if I were to un mount it I could not move it far without running additional wire. Any thoughts?

I have a 4" exhaust fan running to the carbon filter outside. This brought down my temps to 78f with 1 64w QB running.. I cant imagine what a 260 will do! Lol maybe I should get the 6" exhaust fan, or a bigger tent...

It doesnt add very much heat at all. I use the same one and it only adds 3-4°F max to my grow tent.

I dont have any pics of the temp gauges, but when the lights are off I keep the tent around 74-75° F and with the lights on it is around 78°F
My light build is in my sig.

I'm sure every environment is different In it's own way, just commenting on how the temp really doesnt affect mine

also if you run the kit at 100%, the driver is whats going to put off the most heat. at 100% i cant touch the driver for more than a couple seconds without beginning to burn my hand. I would suggest running it about 75%

Most of the heat comes from the driver not the boards... I suggest mounting your driver outside the tent..
18 gauge wire and some wago connectors..
Any particular wago model. I went to amazon but there' so many types of connectors. Not sure which type to get. Also, anyway to wire in a computer fan to run of the drivers power?

No way to wire to a driver.but just buy a $5-10 APV 12-12 from mean well for fans.

I was surprised how hot my heat sinks got with my 260w QB kits when I first put them on.
But that was compared to my cob set up and I have oversized heat sinks on them.

End of the day the heat in the tent/room is going to heat up the same. If you have a fan on a heat sink the heat is dissipated away from the heat sink quicker, but it still adds the same heat to the environment, it just feels warmer to the touch or cooler to the touch.
If you have a larger surface area of heat sink then it feels cooler, but its adding the same heat to the space.

The solution is more air exchange. Getting the heat out of the tent and out of the house. You cant do much if your ambient air temp is already higher than the temp you want in the grow room other than use AC to cool the environment.
