Pellet to Soil.

Yo, What it be? So my question is pretty-simple...or is it? I hope I don't get a million different answers.

I want to make sure I have top drainage on my soil, so that my plants never bare the name Hasselhoff. Can i put Hydroton in the bottom of my veg/flower pot (3-4"), followed by soil on top...remaining (16-18")?

Is that insane to the membrane or reasonable?

You could do that but when you transplant the roots will be tangled in it I never put anything in the bottom of my pots and they drain fine. I have a friend that does it when he transplants for flowering just to save a little on soil

Well I'm actually going to transplant once. between seedling and veg. so once they get past the 2-3 week mark they'll be in their final resting place. SO basically, you're saying its totally optional?

you don't need to do it if you are using good potting soil it should drain fine on its own so it's up to you of you want to or not depending on how many plants you are doing it could save you some money on soil cost.

Alright, cool man! Also, What do you recommend for soil? i'm doing indoor and I just want to do things proper the first time by learning and then over time making my own method. So what do you recommend for soils, macronutes, etc? I really would love the input man.

Thanks!
