Has anyone ever used this type of pc blower fan in conjunction with a carbon filter for ventilation/odor control in a micro-grow?

The consensus seems to be that normal pc fans just don't have the power to pull through a carbon filter effectively and that one needs a vortex/squirrel cage/centrifugal type fan instead. Since most of these are way too big for the sort of micro-grow I have in mind I thought maybe this type of fan might be a good compromise. Or should I rather go with some kind of masking agent like an ONA/febreeze style bucket instead?

Just for background info I am still in the initial stages of planning and was thinking of using a grow cab maybe 2x2x3 with cfl's, something really small for one or two really small plants (which is why a large fan is not practical) something small and stealthy.

The one pictured is rated at 37.5 cfm, and it looks like the average for most of these blower fans I've looked at are around that 20-30 cfm. They may have some with a higher rating, I haven't looked that hard. My main question is about whether these will work under a load b/c that 37.5 cfm is gonna drop alot if I add a filter.

instead of carbon filter us dryer sheets then u wont lose so many cfms whats that fan cost did u try tigerdirict or newwegg

You can get normal PC fans over 100 CFMs

Just googled it quick, that one was $12. I'll look around newegg and such, see what they have to offer. But I didn't want to do too much research on it if the whole idea was not feasible. I thought it might be a novel idea but sometimes its better to stick to what has been proven like dryer sheets ona febreeze and other masking agents for the micro-grow.

Ya I've got stacks of pc fans lying all over the place but from the research I have done they don't work well with carbon filters attached. That's the only reason I was looking at these blower style fans, I thought they might work better under a load but its hard to find any info on this.
