yes, he is a very very smart man, I was one of his first customers when he just started his company Fungi Perfecti. I encourage anyone who buys mushrooms growing supplies or is interested in growing other than what is most talked of here - to buy from him - note, he does not sell cubensis spores.

One thing I thought was really interesting in his videos was using mushroom myc to kill ants, then that myc devoured the bugs and turned them into mushrooms!
