partial harvest ?

I hear of people harvesting like the tops of their plants and leaving the rest to develop more. I was wondering doesn't the partial harvest hurt the plant, and divert energy to fixing the now missing buds instead of filling out the undeveloped stuff?

wrong. it spends energy on buds that are there. plants do not spend energy on things that are not there, because they are in fact not there. with the top bud gone more light can reach the bottom buds, which are now the new top buds. not surprised 27 other people looked but didn't respond. thought you just needed to hear it though.

I would think clipping the top would put even more energy into the lower bud resin production. When you clip it, the plant might take it as its life cycle is about to end and in a last ditch effort puts all its energy into resin production to try and collect male pollen before that happens

to a very small extent yes energy will be diverted to heal the cut. however as i said it's very minimal and is of no concern.

I take my top buds and let the bottom ones mature all the time... I thought everyone did that...lol...
