hi dudes, i got a white widow which is 3 week into flower under a 400 hps. while it was vegging i did a bit of bending and slapping to keep her height down. i have noticed this going of on 1 of the stems. i have put a cane in there to take the weight of the bend. im not sure what to do. way i see it i have 2 choices, i either keep it on there or chop it, of but which do i do?

this is the only branch with the big fan leaves going yellow. the leaves around the bud are green its just the big fan leaves. the bud growth dont seem to be effected.

the rest of the plant is looking great and healthy just the one bend which is looking odd!

no one got an idea as to what this could be? as i dont want to risk losing the whole plant

Looks like stem rot. Did the stem break? it looks like it in the pictures.

Edit : Deff keep it. Unless for some reason it starts to spread but I highly doubt it will.

hi s0high, i bend it over a while ago to keep the height down, its the only bend to go funny out of the ones i did while it was vegging. ill keep an eye on it and if its spreads ill get rid of the infected branch, cheers for the replie

Ya you shouldnt have any problems with it tho. Sometimes the plants leak sap when bent to far or break, maybe it saturated the branch and caused this.... Not sure really

yea it looks like it was trying to repair itself, id be surprised if you didnt lose that branch from there up..... :???:

yea one of 2 things, stem rot, or the bend creates a resistance to the flow of nutes, and they get kinda trapped in there and it stockpiles, til it kills that section. i dont think youll lose the plant, go with the root rot theory first, some fungus killer and see what happens, a generous serving directly on the affected area. worst case scenario, you lose that branch or whatever, not the entire plant

many thanks for the replies, im of to the grow shop today to have a chat with them and see what they recomend for it
